New bigger, faster charter boat for Brookings Fishing Charters

The newest, and one of the fastest, charter boats on the entire Oregon Coast will begin running trips for Brookings Fishing Charters in March. Capt. Andy Martin of Brookings Fishing Charters has purchased a custom 29-foot Kingfisher. The boat was built specifically to be a charter boat out of the Port of Brookings Harbor. It comfortably seats six passengers inside the cabin, and has a spacious fishing deck.
Powered by twin 150-horsepower Mercury outboards, the boats is the fastest in the Brookings charter fleet. The boat has a marine toilet, and all the safety equipment and electronics to give it a 5-star rating from the U.S. Coast Guard.
With this new boat, we will continue our popular lingcod/rockfish and salmon charters, but also offer halibut and albacore tuna trips.
This is the only six-passenger charter boat in Brookings equipped with radar and a self-inflating life raft, and with a 125-gallon fuel tank for the longer tuna and halibut runs. It was built to the same specifications as the charter boats Capt. Andy operated in Alaska for nearly 10 years.
During most rockfish, lingcod and salmon trips, the new boat, the Miss Brooke (named after Capt. Andy's daughter), will be able to reach the fishing grounds in just minutes. The boat is two to three times faster than the other charter boats in Brookings, allowing customers to spend much more time fishing and less time traveling.
